The tap is the Aldi Easy Home spiral spring mixer tap (product NI183ESCRT-AUD which retailed for $79.99).

It is unclear at this stage if Aldi stores in WA have sold this product. If you are unsure of the tap model, contact the Aldi store from which you purchased the tap for more information.

If you do own this tap, it is recommended to replace the tap as a precautionary measure.

It is also recommended to use water from another tap for drinking, cooking and for preparing baby formula until it is replaced.

The Department of Health does not recommend blood testing because there is no evidence of elevated blood levels as result of using these taps.

Anyone concerned should consult their GP.
