Who is an approved referring practitioner for PATS?

Your PATS application must be signed and completed by an approved referring practitioner. These include:

  • GPs
  • medical practitioners
  • medical specialists
  • dentists (can refer patients only for oral or cleft lip/palate surgery)
  • optometrists (can refer patients only for appointments with an ophthalmologist)
  • registered nurse practitioners
  • nursing staff at designated nursing posts for the purposes of urgent medical specialist treatment.
