How do I access my vaccination record?

The Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) is a national register that records immunisations given to people of all ages in Australia.

The Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) records information about immunisations given to children who live in Australia.

AIR history statements are automatically generated when an individual completes their early childhood immunisation schedule.

Parent or guardians of children under 14 years of age can request an AIR history statement by:

This statement can be used to keep track of your child's immunisations and as proof of immunisation for child care and school enrolments.

Since 2009 WA Health has recorded data from the schools based immunisation program into a confidential state wide database.

Please note that despite the expansion to AIR, in Western Australia all vaccines administered through the year 8 school program are reported to the WA Health School Based Immunisation Program (SBIP) database.

A card containing details of the immunisations given to your child at school will be mailed to your home after the end of the school year. A statement of your child’s recorded school based immunisation history can also be requested at any time by providing your child’s name, date of birth and school by either:

Individuals 14 years of age and over can access their own immunisation history statement from the Australian Immunisation register by:

National HPV Vaccination Program Register

The National HPV Vaccination Program Register (HPV Register) (external site) is a confidential database that collects details about HPV vaccinations given in Australia.

Read more about the HPV vaccine offered as part of the year 8 immunisation program.

Details of your child’s HPV immunisations are forwarded to this national register to monitor the national program and provide you with important updates as they are available.

If you do not wish for your child’s HPV immunisation details to be forwarded to the register, advise your school when you return the consent form they have provided to you.

You can phone the HPV Register Contact Centre on 1800 478 734 if you would like details of your child’s HPV register record.

Immunisations given after 30 September 2016 can be recorded on the AIR by your vaccination provider. This includes National Immunisation Program vaccinations (external site) and privately funded immunisations.

Individuals 14 years of age and over can access their own immunisation history statement by:

  • The Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR) has now expanded to become the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).
  • The ACIR was introduced in 1996 and only recorded vaccination details for children 0 to 7 years of age. The ACIR did not hold immunisation records for people born before 1989.
  • AIR can record immunisations given to people of all ages in Australia.
  • Please ensure Medicare has the correct details (including address) for you and your children.
