Before vaccination

You may feel nervous, anxious or overwhelmed in the lead up to getting your vaccination. This is completely normal. Speak to your parents and friends about how you feel and what you are concerned about. If on the day you feel you can't get vaccinated, you can choose not to, it is up to you. You may choose you want to get vaccinated at your doctor or a pharmacy instead.

Getting vaccinated can be overwhelming for some people, so it is important to be kind to each other.

During vaccination

  • You may feel a small prick or a sting when you receive your vaccination or you may feel nothing at all.

After vaccination

  • Most vaccines can cause mild side effects. These should be explained to you by your immunisation provider.
  • Side effects after vaccination are usually mild and short lasting and do not need special treatment.
  • Be kind to your peers. For some people getting vaccinated can be overwhelming.
