COVID-19 update – 13 November 2020

As Western Australia prepares to transition to a controlled interstate border, the Department of Health is reporting no new cases of COVID-19.

WA’s positive COVID-19 case total stands at 783. WA Health is monitoring 13 active cases and 761 confirmed cases have recovered from the virus in WA.

WA Health has been working with Government agencies and airlines to prepare for the expected influx of arrivals into the State from tomorrow – in particular, to prevent co-mingling between passengers from very low risk states and low risk states and to ensure airport infection control processes are in place.

WA Health nursing staff is being boosted at Perth Airport to meet demands of increased passenger arrivals.

Passengers will be required to complete a health declaration via the G2G app and airport health screens will include temperature checks of all interstate arrivals.

Passengers with an elevated temperature (37.5 degrees or more) will be offered a COVID-19 test in an airport clinic. Anyone who is symptomatic and has a COVID-19 test at the airport will be required to go straight home to isolate until they receive their results.

Yesterday 346 people presented to WA COVID-19 clinics – 340 were assessed and swabbed.

There have been 514,223 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those tested, 86,070 were from regional WA.

Note: Passengers on flights from Sydney and Melbourne will still be subject to quarantine directions and are required to travel directly into home self-isolation for 14 days. They should not be approached for interviews.

The first flight from a very low risk state is arriving from Brisbane at 12:40pm.
