WA Health offers a unique opportunity for high achieving university graduates to advance their career within Western Australia's public health system.

GradConnect (nursing and midwifery)

Through the online recruitment system GradConnect, newly qualified enrolled nurses, registered nurses and midwives are encouraged to undertake a fully paid Transition to Practice (graduate) program in WA Health (public, private and aged-care providers).

Applications for all graduate programs offered via GradConnect are centrally coordinated by the Nursing and Midwifery Office.

Graduate Development Program (corporate)

The WA Health Graduate Development Program is looking for talented graduates for broad range of disciplines to join the program and help make a difference to the health and wellbeing of Western Australians.

Medical internships (Postgraduate Medical Council of WA)

Medical internships are for recent graduates of Australian Medical Council accredited medical schools, to achieve general registration with the Medical Board of Australia by undertaking supervised practice in an accredited intern position.

Medical internships with Western Australian public health service providers are facilitated through a centralised recruitment process coordinated by the Postgraduate Medical Council of WA (PMCWA) (external site) annually.

Final year medical students apply mid-year (approximately May/June) via MedJobsWA (external site), for intern positions commencing in January the following calendar year.

Aboriginal Graduate Program

WA Health’s Aboriginal Graduate Program is a two year (24 month) graduate employment program that offers Aboriginal university graduates a head start in developing their skills in diverse clinical and non-clinical areas, within a culturally safe and supportive workplace, all while being paid an attractive salary!
