Immunisation requirements for enrolment: Have your say

6 March 2019

Consultation is now open: Western Australian parents and other interested community members are invited to participate in a consultation about proposed legislation to strengthen immunisation requirements when enrolling children into child care services and kindergarten programs, under a No Jab No Play policy.

Participants are invited to comment on options and proposals intended to increase childhood immunisation rates, through a series of guiding questions. Participants can also identify alternative options and proposals.

Vaccine preventable infectious diseases, like measles and whooping cough, can be life-threatening, and can spread quickly in a school environment.

Immunisation coverage among WA children remains lower than other Australian states, and outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases continue to occur. The WA Government is committed to finding the most effective ways to achieve improved childhood immunisation rates in WA.

The consultation comprises 25 guiding questions. You do not have to respond to all questions, and instead you may prefer to respond to only those questions that are relevant to you.

Consultation closes: 26 March
