Food recall alert: Core Powerfoods

WA Health is urging consumers to check their freezers for any of the recalled Core Powerfoods products, due to a link to Salmonella Weltevedreden.

Core Powerfoods has conducted a voluntary consumer level recall of a variety of frozen meals with a best-before-date between 5/03/2020 to 4/10/2020. This includes the following products in 310g or 350g packs:

  • Going Nuts
  • Deep South Chilli
  • Muay Thai Meatballs
  • Holy Meatballs
  • Naked Chicken
  • Seismic Chicken
  • Old School
  • Smokey Mountain Meatballs

Product in this date range are being removed from sale.  

The food recall notice and further information are available on the Food Standards Australia New Zealand website (external site).

It is recommended that people either dispose of any of the products covered in the recall notice, or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.

Salmonella poses a serious risk to health, and the infection can begin anywhere between six and 72 hours after exposure. The symptoms of salmonella include fever, diarrhoea, vomiting, headaches, stomach craps and loss of appetite, and these usually last for three to seven days.  Anyone who develops the symptoms of Salmonella infection, should seek medical advice.
