Bird's eye view of PCH with Kings Park to the east and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in backgroundPerth Children's Hospital (PCH) is located on the QEII Medical Centre site in Nedlands, and has been designed to reflect the natural healing beauty of the neighbouring Kings Park and Botanic Gardens.

The 298-bed hospital is replacing Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) as Western Australia’s specialist paediatric hospital and trauma centre, providing outstanding medical care to children and adolescents up to 16 years of age.

PCH is part of the Child and Adolescent Health Service.

The staged opening of PCH will take place over four weeks from 14 May 2018 as services transfer from PMH to the new hospital.

Final move day – when PMH officially closes and the PCH emergency department opens – is on 10 June 2018.

 

Key dates when services will commence at PCH in 2018:

Monday 14 May
First outpatient clinics

Monday 28 May
Commencement of elective surgery

Sunday 10 June
Opening of the PCH emergency department and closure of the PMH emergency department
Final move day for all remaining patients from PMH to PCH 

Within a week of final move day
Patients from the Bentley Adolescent Unit arrive at PCH
