St John Ambulance Inquiry – Final report to the Minister for Health

1 December 2010

The State Government conducted an independent inquiry into the safety and quality of St John Ambulance (SJA) service.

The Minister for Health Dr Kim Hames appointed Greg Joyce, former Director General of the Department of Housing and Works, to conduct the Inquiry. It was overseen by the Department of Health’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr Simon Towler and reported to the State Government at the end of October 2009.

The Inquiry has made recommendations to enhance and improve emergency ambulance services in Western Australia. The State Government will ensure SJA takes appropriate steps to implement the required changes.
