Hi, I’m Jonathan Patroni, finance and business analyst for the Department of Health’s Graduate Development Program.
I got an email about it and when I first saw it, I was like “Oh my God, that is just absolutely perfect for me!” I was ecstatic, it basically felt like a chance to do my dream job; working finance in the Department of Health – that’s perfect for me.
So, what attracted me to join the Department of Health was the possibility of helping people. I’m feeling so far with the projects that I’m doing, that it’s going to have great outcomes for the health of WA and help a lot of people.
I think that one of the best things I’ll get out of this program will be a great base to continue in finance, especially within the scope of the Department of Health, which is where I want to be.
I feel like the people that want to work in the public sector are more goal orientated and less financially driven.
So I’ve learned a lot already within the GDP program, and I’m really excited to take that forward into the rest of the Department of Health.
