CPMEC Awards

Three men, two holding award certificates
2017 Clinical Educator of the Year Dr James Marangou and 2017 Junior Doctor of the Year Dr Kiran Narula with PMCWA Chair Prof Richard Tarala

The Confederation of Postgraduate Medical Education Councils (CPMEC) Junior Doctor and Clinical Educator of the Year Awards are presented to one junior doctor and one clinical educator nationally each year.

Nominees are selected by peers or supervisors, and PMCWA selects the Western Australian (WA) winners based upon the nomination details provided. All state nominees are forwarded by PMCWA to CPMEC and the overall national winner of each category is announced at the annual National Prevocational Medical Education Forum. Nominations usually open in July and close in September.

2017 WA winners

From a very competitive field, PMCWA is delighted to announce the WA winners for the 2017 Junior Doctor and Clinical Educator of the year awards as Fiona Stanley's Dr Kiran Narula (RMO) and Dr James Marangou (Cardiology Advanced Trainee).

Both have been entered in to the national CPMEC Junior Doctor and Clinical Educator of the Year awards, to be announced at the 22nd National Australian and New Zealand Prevocational Medical Education Forum in Brisbane in November, and we wish them all the best.
