Western Australia has recorded more than 130 cases of dengue fever in 2024, the majority of which were acquired in Indonesia.
Anyone planning travel to the region is urged to protect themselves against mozzies, as this significantly reduces the risk of contracting dengue fever.
Mozzies in Bali carrying the dengue virus, tend to bite during the day and are usually found around buildings in urban or semi-urban areas.
Symptoms of dengue fever include rash, headache, fever, fatigue, and joint and muscle pain.
